Peanut butter is his best friend.
He enjoys reading graphic novels.
Superheroes rocks his boxer shorts. His heart is as strong as a rock.
He is as gentle as a flower.
Hijabs are cool, but so are beards.

Take Me Away(acoustic) - Lifehouse

I moshed with my grandma. is she cool or what?

Holy Smackeroos.

I take an extended break & people are crying over my lack of updates & whining that I didn't wish a Ramadan Kareem or whatever. Lame. Initially, i wanted to purposely wait until the last 10 days so i can still get in a Ramadan Kareem in there & at the same time get an early Eid Mubarak.

You like that eh? 10 days early.

I would have been awesome like that. So when your kids ask you who the first person was to wish an Eid Mubarak for Aidilfitri of 1428 you can all say "Well son/daughter, it was HARDI. He was kind enough to do that & he's awesome."

But apparently it didn't happen & the sad part is i wouldn't put it past some of you to actually have that conversation. *sigh*

Ramadan was rejunevating for me & i'm already missing it.

A few days before Eid, i was reading the papers when i came across an artcle about islamic scholars belonging to two very different political parties in Indonesia being unable to reach a concensus on which day eid will fall on.

You see when we celebrate eid depends on the sighting of the moon.

I don't really blame them for not being able to come to an agreement… sometimes the problem arises from bizarre moon-watchers claiming they saw some “moon-like” object. Celebrating Eid on different days may not seem “united”, but it inevitably always happens every year.

Why is this? Because sometimes people think they see the moon but it’s not really a moon.

I will attempt to dissect this Moon Mystery by analyzing the “What ifs”

WHAT IF... IT WAS A BIRD?

Probably the most common of moon-sighting problems... these winged creatures often get mistaken as a "moon" because of the "moon-like" pattern the birds fly in. To some people, "flying-in-moon-like-pattern" is basically just as good as the "moon". Flip.

WHAT IF... IT WAS A PLANE?

The mechanical version of the bird, planes are often mistaken because of the flashy lights that appear on the side of it. The moon has blinking flashing lights and moves across the horizon in three minutes as well which is why I’m sure the mistake occurs all the time.

Moons tend to have wings and say "Tiger Airways" or "British Airways" written at the side of it as well. How can Eid NOT be tomorrow when the moon has flown across the horizon several times during the evening? Flip.

WHAT IF... IT WAS AN ELEPHANT?

This actually only raises more questions. It could have been a cow or superman for all we know.

Eh... I guess that settles it.
